Boxing Day was the day we’d intended to launch our crowdfunding campaign.
Thanks to the incredible team assembled here in Chiang Mai, the network of people involved in the launch grew to some forty or fifty people around the globe, and it proved impossible to coordinate them all over the Christmas period, when many are at home with their families.
We’ve decided to push back the launch date until late January, by which time Marinho and I will be in northern Vietnam investigating M’s disappearance.
Tonight, we mark the end of our time in Thailand with a special evening we’ve organised here in Chiang Mai. There will be a series of audiovisual presentations by experts working against human trafficking, an American who has written a play on the subject, and myself.
And then we disappear: next stop, Laos!
